Denmark’s hopes on the ice have taken a significant hit with the news that Jonas Rondbjerg will not be joining the national team for the upcoming competition. The talented forward, currently with the Vegas Golden Knights, sustained a lower-body injury during a tight 4-3 loss to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks on Sunday.

Morten Green, General Manager of the Danish national ice hockey team, shared the unfortunate update with TV 2 Sport as the team readies for its first training session in Milan. “Unfortunately, he is not coming. He suffered an injury a few days ago and will not be in action for the next few weeks, which sadly means he will also miss the Olympics,” Green explained.

“This is a significant setback. Jonas is an incredibly gifted player, and his contributions are vital to our team’s success. He’s been having a fantastic season in the NHL, showcasing his exceptional speed and skill. It’s very disappointing that he can’t join us,” Green added, reflecting on the magnitude of Rondbjerg’s absence.

Rondbjerg’s impact was notably felt during the 2025 World Championships, where he played a crucial role in Denmark’s stunning victory over Canada in the quarter-finals—a moment that will be remembered in Danish hockey history. Now, as the team gears up for their next challenge, his absence will surely be felt both on and off the ice.
