London City Lionesses Secure Denmark’s Malou Marcetto on Two-and-a-Half-Year Contract from Madrid CFF

In an exciting development for women’s football, London City Lionesses have announced the signing of Danish midfielder Malou Marcetto on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Madrid CFF. The 22-year-old talent, who has made significant strides in her career, boasts a solid foundation with 10 appearances for Denmark’s under-23 national team.

Marcetto expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “The facilities are great, and the people I’ve met have made me feel really welcome.” She underscored her admiration for English football, saying, “In my opinion, England is the biggest football country. Women’s football is growing here, and it’s going to be a very competitive league to play in.”

Eager to contribute, she added, “I’m really excited to be here and get started. As a midfielder, I like to be creative while also working hard.”

Originally, the Lionesses had hoped to bring Marcetto on board when her contract expired in the summer. However, they have successfully negotiated a deal in this transfer window for a nominal fee.

Currently positioned sixth in the Women’s Super League standings, the club views Marcetto as an asset who brings significant potential and depth to the squad. Her arrival is expected to enhance competition within the first team, further strengthening the Lionesses’ ambitions in the league.
