Emmanuel Dennis Joins Brøndby, Reuniting with Former Boss Steve Cooper

Former Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis has embarked on a new chapter in his career, signing with Danish club Brøndby IF, where he will reunite with his former Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper.

Since departing Watford for the second time in May 2024, Dennis has found it challenging to secure regular first-team action. His stint at Blackburn Rovers last season saw him feature just seven times, a reflection of the difficulties he faced after officially ending his contract with Forest.

Earlier this season, Dennis trained at London Colney, engaging in discussions to return to Watford for a third stint. However, the club ultimately opted against bringing him back into the fold.

During his time with the Hornets, Dennis made an impact, scoring 10 goals in 37 appearances after joining in the summer of 2021, before making the switch to Premier League side Nottingham Forest in August 2022. He added four goals in 18 appearances during his 2023/24 season upon returning to the pitch.

Now, as he continues his career in Denmark, it’s Cooper who has reignited his prospects. Though not favored during his previous tenure at Forest, Cooper has opted to bring Dennis into the Brøndby setup following a successful trial period this month.

Brøndby currently sits third in the Superliga standings, nine points adrift of leaders AGF, but the club is eager to lift its fortunes with Dennis on board.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the move, Dennis said, “I am very happy to have signed with the club. I have seen video clips of the fans—they have a lot of energy, and so do I. I really appreciate the club giving me this opportunity and I am very excited to get started. Hopefully, we will achieve great things together.”
