As winter sets in across the country, snow and winds have begun to make their presence felt, prompting police forces to urge drivers to reconsider their travel plans. On Friday morning, officials from several police districts issued a stark warning against unnecessary driving.
The advisory is particularly pertinent in North Zealand and East Jutland.
“Due to extremely slippery roads and accessibility challenges in many areas, we are advising against unnecessary driving throughout the entire East Jutland police district,” East Jutland Police announced via their Politi Update service.
In North Zealand, similar guidance has been in place since early Friday night.
For those who deem it essential to venture out, officials recommend carrying essentials like blankets, a shovel, and other aids. “Roadside assistance may take some time to arrive,” they noted, reminding drivers to prepare for potential delays.
Overnight, numerous accidents involving both trucks and cars were reported throughout the country, a stark reminder of the risks posed by treacherous road conditions.
