Tyseer Denmark Enters NCAA Transfer Portal After Two Seasons at Penn State
In a significant turn of events for Penn State football, wide receiver Tyseer Denmark has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal, as reported by On3’s Pete Nakos. Denmark’s departure comes after two seasons with the Nittany Lions, during which he faced various ups and downs.
Throughout his time in Happy Valley, Denmark participated in 12 games, but his contributions were limited. He took a redshirt during the 2024 season, making appearances in four games before chipping in with eight games this fall. This latter period was marked by a notable coaching transition, as head coach James Franklin was relieved of his duties midway through the season.
Statistically, Denmark recorded just four receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown over his two years. He also attempted two rushing plays, gaining a modest eight yards. Yet, there are glimmers of potential in his role as a specialist; although he had limited opportunities in this capacity, he managed to return three punts for a total of 14 yards during his stint at Penn State.
Before joining the Nittany Lions, Tyseer Denmark stood out as a three-star prospect, earning a ranking as the No. 551 overall recruit in the 2024 class, according to Rivals Industry Rankings. He was also recognized as the No. 88 receiver in his class and the 11th overall player from Pennsylvania, hailing from Philadelphia’s Imhotep Institute.
Denmark’s high school career was marked by leadership and success; he served as a three-time team captain and was named team MVP. As a senior, he led Imhotep Charter to an impressive 15-0 record and clinched the Pennsylvania 5A state title.
A Changing Landscape for Penn State
Denmark’s exit is part of a broader trend of departures from the Nittany Lions following the coaching change to new head coach Matt Campbell. Alongside Denmark, defensive lineman Randy Adirika has also entered the NCAA transfer portal. Adirika made his mark in two appearances as a true freshman this past season, though he did not record any tackles.
Prior to his time at Penn State, Adirika, a three-star prospect from Miami Central (FL), was ranked as the No. 634 overall player and No. 63 defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to Rivals Industry Rankings.
As Tyseer Denmark embarks on the next chapter of his football journey, he is not alone in his transition, reflecting the shifting dynamics of the Penn State football program.
