Prominent voice in the Radicals’ backroom believes that the Folketing should vote no to American troops
In Aalborg, where the US is set to gain unhindered access to an air base, radical councillor Jes Lunde believes, going against the party line, that the Danish Parliament should vote no when the base agreement is about to be finally adopted.
When the Danish Parliament soon passes the law that will allow the United States to permanently station American troops on Danish soil, it will be with the support of the radicals.
The Radicals’ political leader, Martin Lidegaard, has defended the decision, calling it an “awkward situation” in light of the rhetoric currently flowing from the White House.
