The transfer portal may be approaching its closing chapter, but the Virginia Tech Hokies continue to make headlines with exciting new additions. On Thursday, the Hokies secured a commitment from Tyseer Denmark, a wide receiver previously with Penn State.

Denmark, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound talent hailing from Philadelphia, carved out a commendable reputation at the Imhotep Institute, a powerhouse program in Pennsylvania. His commitment adds another layer to Virginia Tech’s connection with Imhotep, as he follows in the footsteps of other former Penn State players who have chosen to don Hokies’ colors.

Originally a 3-star signee for the 2024 recruiting class, Denmark first committed to Oregon before Coach James Franklin successfully flipped him to Penn State. After redshirting in 2024, Denmark saw action in four games, during which he caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. The following year, he participated in eight games, contributing two more receptions for 17 yards. Most of his opportunities with the Nittany Lions came from the slot position, showcasing his versatility on the field.

Denmark’s swift speed adds a valuable asset to Virginia Tech’s receiving corps. He is the fourth receiver to join the Hokies this transfer season, alongside Jeff Exinor (Penn State), Que’Sean Brown (Duke), and Marlion Jackson (Louisiana Tech). Notably, Exinor and Brown both possess at least two years of eligibility left, with Brown expected to be a significant player alongside Ayden Greene in 2026. As the Hokies continue to build their roster, Denmark’s addition promises to enhance their offensive capabilities in the seasons to come.
