The Danish Working Environment Authority was called by the police after a fatal accident at a stud farm in Silkeborg Municipality.

A 16-year-old girl lost her life in an accident with a horse in Central Denmark on Monday.

This is reported by the Central and West Jutland Police.

The accident occurred at a stud farm located in Silkeborg Municipality.

The girl was supposed to lead two horses across a courtyard, and for some unknown reason, one of the horses got scared and started running.

The girl was connected to the horse with a tow rope, and she was dragged along a distance of several hundred meters, according to the duty officer at the Central and West Jutland Police.

She died from the injuries she sustained in that connection.

The accident happened on Monday morning at Stald Gavnholt on Mollerupvej, about ten kilometers east of Silkeborg. The alarm was raised at 9:30 a.m.

In connection with the case, the Danish Working Environment Authority was called in to conduct investigations, but the police chief on Monday afternoon did not immediately have information about whether the girl was employed at the stud farm.
