Scientist calls experiment to eliminate ‘May children’ “the good news of the day”
Fewer transitions create better well-being for children. That is why a majority in the Municipality of Copenhagen has initiated a pilot scheme where children are allowed to stay in kindergarten until the start of school.
Three months can feel like an eternity in the life of a six-year-old. Time can stretch so far that children have difficulty imagining it will ever end.
This is one of the reasons why SF and the Red-Green Alliance, together with a majority of parties in the Municipality of Copenhagen, have initiated a pilot scheme where the so-called May children are kept in a safe environment in kindergarten until the start of school instead of being transferred to the after-school scheme already in the spring, as they have been so far.
