For over a century and a half, the Danish language has allowed individuals to bask in greatness. For the last hundred years, the language has even embraced the art of drunkenness through a rich tapestry of expressions.

However, many colloquial terms for inebriation tend to fade quickly, giving way to new phrases. Gone are the days when one might hear someone described as “steamed,” “spoiled,” “whale-eyed,” or “drunk on a donner.”
