Dybvad wants to hear possible Islamist before citizenship – recognizes risk of breach of convention
The government will now remove the citizenship applicant from the bill due to Islamist statements. He will then have to be heard before he can possibly be granted citizenship later.
With a new tool, the government is trying to find out whether one of the applicants who is officially about to become a Danish citizen is now as Danish in mind as he or she has signed on to.
Where three applicants were called to interview politicians in the Citizenship Committee before Christmas about their values, the government will now initially propose to remove the new applicant from the bill, which is scheduled to be passed before the summer and which will grant citizenship to hundreds of applicants.
