**Links in the Running for Top Honor in Europe**

In an exciting development for South African football, Gift Links has been nominated for the Danish Superliga Player of the Month award for November. The 27-year-old wing-back has shown remarkable prowess on the field, playing a full 90 minutes in five league matches throughout the month.

Links’ team, AGF, has seen a mixed bag of results, drawing against FC Midtjylland, suffering a setback against SønderjyskE, but also celebrating emphatic victories over Silkeborg, the reigning champions FC Copenhagen, and Randers FC. These performances have propelled AGF to the summit of the Danish Superliga standings, amassing an impressive 40 points from 18 matches—four points ahead of second-placed FC Midtjylland.

The former Cape Town City player has made his mark in 20 matches across all competitions this season, contributing three goals and four assists to his team’s success.

As he vies for this prestigious accolade, Links will be competing against Aral Simsir of FC Midtjylland and Thomas Jørgensen from Viborg. The anticipation surrounding this award is palpable, and Links is undoubtedly eager to claim the honor.

Yet, despite his impressive form in Scandinavia, Links faces disappointment on the international stage. He has been overlooked for the Bafana Bafana squad set to compete in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco later this month. Coach Hugo Broos has expressed that Links has not yet reached the necessary level to represent the national team—a sentiment that has sparked frustration from Link’s agent, who has publicly defended the player’s abilities.
