I can’t afford to feed my family with the fisherman’s worst fish.
The price of fish in Copenhagen has gone crazy: 300 kroner for a kilo of black saithe? Have you lost your mind?
“Three kilos of squid. 100 kroner,” it says on the Facebook page, and I start with a loud gasp into the room: “Guess what squid costs in Køge!” I shout to my colleagues.
It’s cheap, absolutely outrageously cheap. I leaf through the ad from the small fishmonger in Køge. Turbot, 800-1,000 grams, costs 159 kroner. It’s almost unnatural.
