Klarlund’s column: There is plenty of health in both sunrise and sunset

Sunsets are often something you share. But when the sun breaks the horizon and rises, you can have your thoughts to yourself. That’s something very special, I think.

I am obsessed with watching the sun rise from the sea. Here in the summer there is no crowd at sunrise. You can have it to yourself. Then I sit out on a rock and watch the sun break the horizon. I always wake up just before sunrise. Even before it gets completely light, the blackbird starts its song. When the sun rises, the song thrush and the wood pigeon sing, and gradually other bird voices join in.

The sunset is often something you share. There can be crowds in front of the sunset kiosk or at the Norresan café, where sunset drinks are served. But when the sun breaks the horizon and rises, you can have your thoughts to yourself. It’s something very special, I think.
