Man jailed for dangerous assault at Odense train station
Person attacked with a sharp object received life-saving first aid on the sidewalk near Odense Banegård Center.
A man in his 30s was subjected to particularly dangerous violence when he was attacked near the train station in Odense on Friday evening.
This is the assessment of a judge at the Court in Odense, who on Saturday decided to remand the person arrested in the case.
The crime was committed with a ‘sharp object’, the police have previously stated.
According to the police’s suspicions, the arrested 27-year-old man tried to kill the other man, but the judge finds in his preliminary assessment that it was instead a case of dangerous violence.
The court hearing on Saturday took place behind closed doors, and it ended with the accused being remanded in custody until July 17.
In connection with the attack at Odense Banegård Center, the police set up roadblocks, which also meant that the light rail was prevented from running for a while.
A witness told TV 2 Fyn that he helped provide life-saving first aid to the injured man who was lying on the sidewalk. He was bleeding from the collarbone or neck region, the witness said.
The police have stated that the case does not immediately have anything to do with gangs.
