Mette Frederiksen receives gift certificate for a donkey after 10 years as chairman

More than 100 people have gathered to celebrate Mette Frederiksen’s 10 years as chairwoman of the Social Democrats.

The Social Democrats have acknowledged Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s ten years at the top of the party with a gift certificate for a live donkey.

It shows pictures from a reception for the anniversary, which will be held on Friday afternoon at the Hotel and Restaurant School in Valby.

“Mette has bought a farm down on Møn. We have heard that she would like to have some more animals. Among other things, a donkey. It is more fun than a seagull set or a book collection,” says party secretary Lasse Ryberg.

“She was very surprised,” he adds.

According to the party secretary, she asked if it could lead to a foal.

“That donkey will definitely end up on Møn,” says Lasse Ryberg.

The guest list is composed by Mette Frederiksen and the Social Democrats.

The red carpet has been rolled out for today’s occasion, and Mette Frederiksen has welcomed government colleagues Lars Løkke and Troels Lund Poulsen, among others, with hugs.

But the guest list does not only include colleagues from Christiansborg.

Mette Frederiksen has also invited TV doctor Peter Qvortrup Geisling, musician Anne Linnet and actress Merete Mærkedahl, who has made parodies of the prime minister in the Circus Revue.
