East Jutland Police received a report on Sunday afternoon that a person in a car in Viby near Aarhus had been stabbed with a sharp object.
The person has died, the police district announced on social media X on Sunday evening.
The police have arrested a suspected perpetrator, and a massive investigation is being carried out in the coming hours, it is said.
It is emphasized that the incident is not gang-related.
In the announcement, the East Jutland Police does not provide further information about either the deceased or the arrested person.

The report came in at 4:31 p.m. Since then, law enforcement has been heavily present on Grøndalsvej in Viby.
An ambulance and a medical vehicle also arrived at the area, which has been cordoned off, writes TV2 Østjylland.
According to the media, the police have had a drone in the air, and the police have also made use of police dogs.
The crime scene includes, among other things, a parking lot near the residential area, it says.
Around 6 p.m., the police initially wrote on X that officers had responded to the scene following a report of a stabbing.
“Forensic examinations are being carried out and an investigation is ongoing,” it said.
