Borris in West Jutland has reached 25 degrees on Saturday afternoon, but a change in weather is coming across the country.

The temperature reached above 25 degrees on Saturday afternoon in Borris in West Jutland.

This is what the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) writes on the social media X.

This means that the first meteorological summer day of the year is a reality.

It is precisely defined by the temperature reaching 25 degrees or above in at least one place in the country.

Normally this happens already during the month of May, but this year it has happened unusually late in the year.

The first day of summer is thus the latest recorded day of summer in 15 years, writes DR Nyheder.

In 2010, according to DR, the first day of summer did not arrive until June 28. And in 2004, the temperature did not reach above 25 degrees until July 30.

South Jutland heat

Several places in southern and southern Jutland will have high temperatures on Saturday.

In Store Jyndevad, according to DR, the temperature has reached 24.9 degrees, while the thermometer in Billund has shown 24.3 degrees.

But the sunny weather doesn’t last.

According to DMI, a front is approaching West Jutland this evening, and the front is accompanied by rain and thunderstorms.

During the evening and night, the front moves slowly eastward over Jutland and Funen.

“Sunday morning you will wake up to a lovely mix of clouds and showers, which may include thunder, while there will be sunshine in the eastern regions,” writes meteorologist Marie Timm on DMI’s website.

Jutland and Funen will be hit first by the heaviest showers, but Zealand will also feel them during the afternoon.

The temperature will rise during Sunday to between 18 and 25 degrees – warmest in the eastern part of the country.
