When scaffolding fell on Østerbro, it tore down power cables. This has affected traffic and traffic lights.

A huge scaffolding has fallen at the intersection of Haraldsgade and Vermundsgade in Østerbro in Copenhagen. This was caused by a strong gust of wind, according to Copenhagen Police Chief Dyre Sønnicksen.

The scaffolding has brought down a lot. Among other things, some electrical cables hanging in the air.

“Traffic has of course come to a standstill, and it has at least affected traffic lights, but we don’t know how much it affects everything else. We’re finding that out,” says the shift manager.

There are no reports of injuries.

Copenhagen Police received the first reports at 4:53 p.m.

There is also a presence at Alléen in Kastrup, where scaffolding is swaying after the gust of wind.

“The scaffolding has torn itself loose from the building, and some tarpaulins have also torn themselves loose, so the whole thing is rocking back and forth,” says Dyre Sønnicksen.

A scaffold with a plastic roof has also broken free on Tjørnerækken on Amager, writes Ekstra Bladet.

A large branch has hit some power cables at Nærumsgade in Nørrebro in Copenhagen after strong gusts of wind. The police are closing off the areas.

“And then we have to find out who owns the scaffolding so they can figure out what needs to be done about it,” says Dyre Sønnicksen.
