The Liberal mayor of Copenhagen wants to transform Peberholm into a holiday island with hotels and a conference center.
The artificial island of Peberholm, which was established in connection with the Øresund Bridge, should no longer be just a home for birds and nature, says the mayor. He dreams of hotels and holiday homes.
For 25 years, the artificial island of Peberholm in the middle of the Øresund Link has been allowed to fend for itself and develop into a popular breeding ground for birds. But if it’s up to the Liberal Party’s Mayor for Employment and Integration in Copenhagen, Jens-Kristian Lütken, the island is to be transformed into a holiday destination with holiday homes, hotels and conference facilities:
“It’s a unique location between Denmark and Sweden in the middle of the water. It could also help put the entire Øresund region on the map, having something in this very special location out in Øresund,” he says.
