What’s happening? Almost 400,000 people insure themselves against loss of wages in the middle of a job fair

There is virtually no unemployment, yet a surprising number of employees are now insuring themselves against unemployment. The economic pessimism of the Danes may be part of the explanation.

It’s one of those statistics that just doesn’t make sense. Unemployment is at an almost record low, the economy is rock solid.

Yet, for the first time in a number of years, insurance companies can note a clear increase in the number of employees who insure themselves against unemployment.
