53 firefighters working to put out fire at Falck station

A major fire in a Falck station in Fredericia is not expected to be extinguished until Saturday.

A major fire broke out at a Falck station in Fredericia on Friday afternoon.

The fire is not expected to be extinguished until Saturday, according to operations manager of the Triangle Fire Department, Erik Eg, in Ritzau.

“The entire roof structure has burned, so it’s a very big fire. We have it under control now, but it will take many hours to put out,” he says.

At 7:15 p.m., the fire department had 53 people on site working to put out the fire.

The report was received at 2:17 p.m. It was not until around 10 p.m. that the fire department was able to determine that the fire was under control. This is stated in a post on the social media X.

“We are slowly starting to send most of the forces home. However, the extinguishing work will continue for several more hours,” the post says.

The Falck station is located in an industrial area on Vejlevej in Fredericia.

There is no suspicion that a criminal act is behind this. That is what Rune Nielsen, chief of police at the South East Jutland Police, says.

“We don’t know 100 percent what happened out there, but before the fire they were putting in some skylights, and we suspect that something went wrong with some roofing felt.”

“At least that’s what everything suggests,” he says.

There are no reports of injuries.
