Tyseer Denmark and Braz Thomas made a choice that left many questioning their commitment during the Pinstripe Bowl. As their teammates reveled in a hard-fought victory, the two players exited the field early, a gesture that did not sit well with fans back at Penn State.

In the days ahead, it wouldn’t be surprising to see both players enter the transfer portal. However, the prospect of a conversation with the incoming head coach, Matt Campbell, could sway their decision. Time will tell.

Their actions on Saturday drew criticism from a significant portion of the college football community in Happy Valley, many of whom felt let down by their apparent dissatisfaction amid a celebratory atmosphere.

Penn State Clinches the Pinstripe Bowl!

The 2025 season was undeniably tumultuous for the Nittany Lions. Preseason expectations were high, with the team ranked No. 2, but they ended up suffering six defeats, leading to the dismissal of head coach James Franklin.

Yet, against all odds, Penn State rallied in the latter part of the season, securing victories over Rutgers, Nebraska, and Michigan State to become bowl eligible. Under interim head coach Terry Smith, the team triumphed over Clemson, clinching a 12-point victory in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday—a significant milestone for a coach who has dedicated over a decade to his alma mater.

This win was a testament to his leadership and the resilience of his players, who fought valiantly for him in a season marked by adversity.

Smith’s ability to unite the team in the face of challenges deserves commendation, especially during a time when hope seemed fleeting.

Tyseer Denmark and Braz Thomas Remain Discontent

The postgame festivities at Yankee Stadium should have been a joyful celebration to round off a rough season. After all, any victory is worth commemorating—even if it isn’t a national championship!

However, Denmark and Thomas had a different perspective.

Tyseer Denmark, a redshirt freshman wide receiver, was the first to depart the field. With only two catches for 17 yards to his name this season and no playing time in the Pinstripe Bowl, his frustration was palpable, evident in his slumped shoulders and hurried exit.

Following him was Braz Thomas, a true freshman safety who found himself in a similar predicament—he didn’t see the field at all this season and recorded no statistics. His departure echoed Denmark’s sentiment, with both players’ body language telling the story of their discontent.

While it’s completely understandable to feel disappointment in a challenging season, their decision to storm off in the midst of celebration sends a discouraging message. Frustration is valid, but walking away does little to uplift anyone involved.

As for their future, it wouldn’t be shocking to see both players hitting the transfer portal sooner rather than later. Three… two… one…
