“It seems strange”: PET assessment of Gaza children arouses wonder

Central PET assessment is being kept secret from the Danish Parliament in connection with the decision not to bring children from Gaza. On Wednesday, Sophie Løhde (V) once again emphasized the government’s line in front of a number of doctors.

Both inside the corridors of Christiansborg and outside on the Palace Square, the powerlessness and frustration were palpable.

A number of doctors in lab coats had taken up positions on the rows of chairs on the balcony above an almost empty parliament chamber when Health Spokesperson Peder Hvelplund (EL) once again asked Minister of the Interior and Health Sophie Løhde (V) whether the government would consider accepting patients from Gaza, as the World Health Organization (WHO) has urged member states to do.
