Kirsten Kirsmeyer sings and claps for a welcome song. There is a baby café in the Children’s House in Helsingør, and in front of Kirsten Kirsmeyer sit ten parents – mostly women – and their young children. The little ones look around in amazement at the clapping and singing adults.
Every Wednesday there is a baby café in the municipally owned children’s home in the North Zealand market town, and it is volunteers who are behind it. It is volunteers from the local branch of Mødrehjælpen who make it possible to keep the baby café and the other activities in the city going. This includes, among other things, a second-hand shop in one of Helsingør’s central streets.
