Cardiff City Striker Yousef Salech Returns Home for Personal Reasons
Cardiff City striker Yousef Salech has made the journey back to Copenhagen due to personal matters.
After a brief hiatus from the pitch, Salech rejoined his teammates in training last week, following a neck injury he sustained during the League One leaders’ 1-1 draw against Stockport on January 24. A subsequent scan revealed that the injury was not serious, allowing him to resume training. However, he remains sidelined from playing.
“He’s back home in Copenhagen dealing with some family issues,” shared Cardiff head coach Brian Barry-Murphy. “We expect him to return on Monday or Tuesday to continue his rehabilitation.”
In other news, forward Isaak Davies may make an appearance in Saturday’s League One clash against Doncaster Rovers at 15:00 GMT, having recovered from a concussion.
Conversely, midfielder David Turnbull will be absent, nursing a hamstring strain he picked up during last Saturday’s 5-2 defeat at Plymouth Argyle.
“Isaak has trained fully this week, so fingers crossed he’ll be available,” Barry-Murphy noted. “David came off with the injury at half-time against Plymouth, and while it doesn’t seem serious, he hasn’t trained at all. I’d say this weekend will come too soon for him.
“Other than that, all the players who were involved at the weekend should be fit and ready to go.”
