Scientist: Wild research findings about women’s menopause can’t possibly be the whole truth
A few years ago, Lasse Gliemann came across research results that almost blew his mind. As a researcher, he still refuses to accept the wild premise they led to: Is it really true that exercise is useless when women go through menopause?
When women go through menopause, it’s about much more than just the process of menstruation stopping. In fact, every cell in a woman’s body changes.
The scope of this point became clear to me during my interview with Lasse Gliemann. He is an associate professor and deputy head of the department at the Department of Sport and Nutrition at the University of Copenhagen and researches what physical activity means for our circulation, and together with his colleague associate professor Maria Hybholt from the Department of Public Health, he is leading a major research initiative on women’s menopause.
