The experience in the nursing home made it impossible to continue her education. Three years later, she is still waiting for compensation.

The waiting time for compensation is increasing for citizens who, for example, have been subjected to a crime at work.

In December 2022, Line Andersen had an unpleasant experience during an emergency shift at a care center in Ejby on Funen. While serving breakfast, a resident with Alzheimer’s reached for Line Andersen’s neck with what she describes as a “dark and empty gaze”. Line Andersen managed to defend herself and escaped with bruises, but got a real scare.

“I didn’t start school after the incident, but tried my internship for 2-3 days, which didn’t work out after the incident,” says 31-year-old Line Andersen, who was a social welfare student at the time and also worked at a temporary employment agency to earn money alongside her studies.
