A one and a half year old son was subjected to attempted rape by his father, who has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison.
A 32-year-old man from Horsens was convicted on Thursday of sexual assault and abuse of his own minor son. The man was found guilty, among other things, of attempted rape of the boy when the child was one and a half years old, writes Horsens Folkeblad.
The father filmed and photographed the abuse of his son, which according to the indictment took place between October 2022 and June 2024, and shared the material with others. He has been sentenced to five years and six months in prison by the Court in Horsens. He appealed the verdict on the spot.
The man is a trained educator and was employed at a residential facility for children and young people with mental and cognitive challenges. He has also been convicted of having subjected a boy of about 10 years old to attempted rape in a sexual relationship other than intercourse. That assault was also filmed and shared, the media outlet writes.
The 32-year-old has also been found guilty of indecent assault when he masturbated in a minibus and filmed it while another 10-year-old boy from the institution was sitting in the back seat. The man has partially admitted to the assaults. He denies the attempted rape of his son, the media outlet reports.
The defendant’s defense attorney, Jørn Brandenhoff Schmidt, said in court, among other things, that the man, who “recognizes and regrets”, has explained that he “sets fire to set others on fire”. According to the lawyer, the explanation is credible, since the injured parties have not been able to give a statement.
“He also explains that the son did not know what was happening, and neither did the other boys. Therefore, it is of course a criminal offense, but it is positive that the victims do not understand the seriousness of it,” said the defense attorney.
The man has also been denied the right to work with children and young people for the time being.
Prosecutor Michelle Jønsson said in court that the 32-year-old should be sentenced to 5 years and 11 months in prison.
