61-year-old turns himself in after shooting death of woman in Brønshøj

A 61-year-old man turned himself in after a woman was shot and killed in Brønshøj on Monday.

The person arrested in the case of a shooting death of a woman in Brønshøj on Monday is a 61-year-old man who turned himself in.

This is stated by Lasse Michelsen, deputy police inspector at the Copenhagen Police.

He states that the man had a restraining order against the murder victim. This means that he was not allowed to visit the murdered 47-year-old woman.

Lasse Michelsen refuses to give any details about the relationship between the two people.

“I can’t go into more detail about the specific relationship, just stating that the two knew each other,” he says.

The police are currently unable to provide further details about a motive. But on Monday afternoon there is nothing to suggest that the case is related to the biker and gang environment.

Seven to eight shots

The deputy police inspector states that the report of the shooting was seven to eight shots.

The case was reported to the police at 1:12 p.m., which occurred on Frederikssundsvej in Brønshøj.

Copenhagen Police are still present at the crime scene on Monday around 3:30 p.m., and are expected to remain so for many hours.

“We will be present with our investigation and forensic experts, and in addition, we are also present in the area with our local police,” says Lasse Michelsen.

He urges citizens who know anything about the case to contact the police on 114.

According to the police, there are also videos circulating that are related to the shooting.

The Deputy Police Inspector therefore points out that it may be a criminal offence to share them.

He cannot comment further on the content of the videos in question.

Lasse Michelsen expects the 61-year-old arrested man to be brought before a judge in a constitutional hearing on Tuesday.
