Elderly woman found dead in her apartment – son arrested
Police are investigating a suspicious death after a 77-year-old woman was found dead in Roskilde.
A 77-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment in central Roskilde on Tuesday evening.
This is stated by the Central and West Zealand Police in a press release.
The woman’s 45-year-old son was also at the scene. He has now been arrested.
Police are treating the death as suspicious. Investigators and technicians are currently working at the apartment.
“The police were on the scene when we received a call from a resident in the area who was concerned about the elderly woman.”
“We cannot say anything about the cause of death at this time, but we are working on site with forensic experts from the NKC (National Forensic Center, ed.) to clarify what happened at the address,” says Deputy Police Inspector Søren Danielsen in the press release.
The police are currently keeping all options open.
“The investigation in the coming hours will determine whether we will try to have the person in question remanded in custody on Wednesday,” says Søren Danielsen.
