Young man in critical condition after skydiving accident
Parachute and emergency parachute became entangled during a 21-year-old man’s jump from a height of 1,000 meters.
A 21-year-old man from Gentofte is in critical condition after a parachute accident on Saturday at Skinderholm Airfield near Herning.
The man has been transferred to Aarhus University Hospital, Andreas Andersen, duty officer at the Central and West Jutland Police, told TV Midtvest.
According to the duty officer, something went wrong during the jump, so the parachute and the emergency parachute became entangled in each other.
The man was with a group when he jumped from a height of 1000 meters.
“It was possible to talk to him before he was driven to the hospital,” the duty officer tells the media.
The police have secured the equipment and will now investigate whether all conditions complied with the regulations.
The 21-year-old’s family has been notified.
