Exclusive Broadcast Rights for FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers Awarded to SPORT LIVE in Denmark

MIES, Switzerland — FIBA has officially awarded SPORT LIVE the exclusive broadcast rights for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers in Denmark, a significant development for basketball enthusiasts in the region.

Founded in 2019 as part of F3 Media Group A/S, SPORT LIVE brings over 15 years of expertise in sports marketing within the Danish market. The network is renowned for providing comprehensive coverage of various sports, and this latest deal enhances its portfolio significantly.

As Denmark embarks on its journey towards the prestigious FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 in Doha, basketball fans will have a golden opportunity to follow the national team’s progress through home and away games. Denmark has already triumphantly made it through the Pre-Qualifiers round and is now set to face six thrilling match-ups during three dedicated windows for the qualifiers in November 2025, February-March 2026, and July 2026.

Kicking off the campaign, Denmark will host the formidable Spain on November 27, raising the anticipation among local fans for a thrilling opening encounter.

In a deal facilitated by FIBA Media and the strategic partnership with DAZN, SPORT LIVE will serve as the host broadcaster for all home games. This agreement not only solidifies SPORT LIVE’s position as a key player in Danish sports broadcasting but also aims to expand the reach of basketball within the country.

Frank Leenders, Director General of FIBA Media and Marketing Services, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership: “We are thrilled to have established this exclusive broadcast arrangement with SPORT LIVE for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers. Fans in Denmark can look forward to rallying behind their national team in an elite international competition, poised to deliver unforgettable moments.”

Furthermore, Leenders emphasized the importance of this partnership in promoting basketball at the grassroots level, stating that showcasing the national team on SPORT LIVE will inspire a new generation of fans and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the sport across Denmark.

Flemming Kjellerup, CEO of SPORT LIVE, echoed this sentiment. “We are delighted to deepen our commitment to Danish basketball, complementing our extensive coverage of league and cup matches. The men’s national team has shown remarkable passion and performance in recent years, arguably representing the strongest cohort in Denmark’s basketball history. We eagerly anticipate serving as the host broadcaster for Denmark’s home games, providing exclusive access to all six FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers for our viewers.”

As Denmark gears up for these important matches, excitement is palpable among basketball fans eager to support their team on this crucial road to Qatar.
