At least three people have tragically lost their lives, and several others have sustained injuries after a powerful wave struck the southern coast of Tenerife, the popular holiday destination in Spain.
Local authorities informed the public of this devastating incident, as reported by the Spanish newspaper El País. The waves hit particularly hard in the Los Gigantes area, where the scene remains somber.
One individual required immediate medical attention after suffering a cardiac arrest and was swiftly airlifted to Hospital de la Candelaria, alongside three others injured in the incident.
This marks a grim recurrence for Tenerife, as just a month ago, three people also perished due to the extreme weather and the ferocious waves that battered the island.
Nestled in the Atlantic Ocean, off the northwest coast of Africa, Tenerife is home to nearly a million residents, who now face the aftermath of yet another natural calamity.
