Denmark Unveils Young Roster for World Juniors in Minnesota

Denmark has officially announced its roster for the upcoming World Junior Championship in Minnesota, marking a significant return to the top division after earning promotion from the World Championship Division I last season.

This year, Denmark is bringing a youthful squad to the tournament, featuring three players born in 2008 and only ten from 2006. Among them is forward Mads Kongsbak Klyvø, who was selected by the Florida Panthers in the fourth round of the 2025 draft, where he was the 112th overall pick.

Head coach Martin Struzinski expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It will be exciting to bring the team to the World Juniors again. We are coming with a very young and, in U20 terms, fairly inexperienced group, but we will do everything we can to deliver a strong performance in the United States.”

Denmark’s journey to secure its spot in the World Juniors was nothing short of thrilling. The team faced a nail-biting situation in last year’s Division I tournament, needing a regulation win against Austria in the final match. With just under ten minutes left in the game and the score tied at 3-3, the Danes surged forward, finding the net twice in those final moments to clinch a 5-3 lead. Despite a late goal from Austria that added to the tension, Denmark held on, ultimately securing its promotion for the 2026 tournament.
