Lakshya Sen Knocks Out Anders Antonsen at Denmark Open

In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Indian badminton star Lakshya Sen sent World No. 2 Anders Antonsen packing from the Denmark Open on Friday. The match unfolded in front of a home crowd in Denmark, lasting a competitive 53 minutes, with Sen securing a decisive 21-13, 21-14 victory.

Sen’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. From the outset, the 23-year-old shuttler showcased his exceptional mastery of the court, employing his renowned net precision and agile footwork to dominate the defending champion. In one of his standout matches this season, Sen controlled the game from start to finish, demonstrating both poise and aggression.

Meanwhile, in men’s doubles action, India’s top pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, also advanced to the quarterfinals. They faced tough opposition from Chinese Taipei’s Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan, ultimately emerging victorious in straight sets, with a hard-fought score of 21-19, 21-17. While the scoreline suggests a straightforward win, the match was anything but simple, as the world No. 1 duo battled through tense moments to keep their title defense alive.

As the tournament progresses, both Sen and the doubles team will be looking to build on these impressive performances as they aim for further success on the international stage.
