DR confirms host reshuffle: ‘We have to change’

DR host Tobias Hansen is still recovering from the cardiac arrest he suffered in May.

And this will have an impact on his involvement during this summer’s Tour de France on DR.

An event he has commented on in recent years.

Anders Kern Boje, deputy director of DR News with responsibility for Sport, confirms to B.T. that a host reshuffle is necessary.

»Tobias’ situation will have an impact on our Tour de France coverage. That’s why we had to change it, so that instead it will be Emil Schiønning who will go from being a host to a commentator on the radio during the Tour,” he says, adding about the DR setup:

“He will be sent around France, while Albert Røhl and Morten Hausborg will be hosts of the Tour on P4.”

Tobias Hansen suffered a cardiac arrest on May 16, and he himself shared on Instagram that it was his 12-year-old son who saved him.

‘A hero. I don’t know how many real heroes you know? I mean the kind of heroes who save lives. I don’t know many, but on the other hand I am the father of one,’ he writes about his son Hugo.

Hansen fell during a walk with his two sons Hugo and Mio, aged 12 and two respectively, near Skallerup Klit in North Jutland.

‘He leaves Mio and me and runs as fast as he can down the path to find an adult.’

‘He shouts and screams for help, and it’s not long before he meets a woman who can tell by the look on Hugo’s face that he’s completely crazy.’

The woman called for help – and managed to save Tobias Hansen’s life, who has now had a so-called ICD implanted.

The same device that football star Christian Eriksen runs around with in his body after his cardiac arrest.
