BonBon-Land doubles results in a year with more guests

For the fourth year in a row, BonBon-Land has generated a million-dollar profit. Management expects increasing earnings this year.

More visits have contributed to the BonBon-Land amusement park doubling its earnings in 2024.

During the year, BonBon-Land earned 2.3 million kroner, while earnings the previous year were 1.1 million kroner.

This is evident from the amusement park’s financial statements, which were published on Friday.

BonBon-Land does not disclose its revenue in its financial statements, but the management report states that it has also been increasing.

This is due to more guests and has contributed to the operating profit being higher than expected, it says.

Management expects profits to grow further this year as a result of increasing revenue.

This is the fourth year in a row that BonBon-Land has delivered a million-dollar profit. In the years before 2021, however, the amusement park had a million-dollar deficit year after year.

The worst was in 2019, when BonBon-Land lost almost 40 million kroner.

In the financial statements at the time, management wrote that a downward adjustment had been made to the valuation of assets. A total of 35.6 million kroner was written down.

BonBon-Land is located in Holme-Olstrup in South Zealand. The amusement park was founded by Michael Spangsberg in 1992.

In 2007, Spangsberg sold the park to the Spanish amusement group Parques Reunidos.

Michael Spangsberg has since started a successful cream puff company in his own name.

He has also resumed his interest in candy with the company Nørregade, which also produces candy.

The amusement group Parques Reunidos is also behind the Tropical Islands water park, located in a large, indoor dome in Germany, and the Zoo Aquarium in Spain.
