LoveCopenhagen: What are you up to at the moment?
Camille Jones (CJ): At the moment, I’m deeply engrossed in rehearsals for my upcoming tour set to kick off at the end of February. I can’t wait to travel around the country and reconnect with my audience once again.
LoveCopenhagen: Where do you live?
CJ: I reside in Inner Frederiksberg.
LoveCopenhagen: Where do you like to spend your time?
CJ: I have to admit, I often find myself wandering around the lakes or enjoying the greenery of Frederiksberg Have — it’s just so convenient from where I live.
LoveCopenhagen: Where’s your go-to coffee spot?
CJ: I typically grab my coffee on Værnedamsvej or at Pauseriet on Vodroffsvej. Since I live nearby, you’ll often find me there, mug in hand.
LoveCopenhagen: What about dining out?
CJ: I don’t have a regular spot, but I’ve enjoyed some delicious meals lately in Kødbyen, with my most recent visit being Superbon.
LoveCopenhagen: And where do you enjoy a night out?
CJ: (Laughs) I was at SØ this past weekend, but I usually opt for private gatherings when it comes to celebrating.
LoveCopenhagen: What inspires you?
CJ: Inspiration strikes at every turn for me — whether I’m strolling through the city, relaxing on my balcony, or traveling. The people I meet along the way often spark my creativity, too.
LoveCopenhagen: What’s your favorite spot in Copenhagen?
CJ: I absolutely adore the variety of bathing spots that have emerged in Copenhagen, from Amager Strandpark to La Banchina and Bryggen.
LoveCopenhagen: Tell us about a moment when you fell in love with Copenhagen?
CJ: It was on January 1st, when a group of ten friends and I rented a sauna at Copenhagen Harbor, specifically at Kalvebod Brygge. We sat there, looking out over the water and the skyline, sweating out the excesses of New Year’s Eve. It was such a fulfilling experience. I love how you can now swim in the harbor — a privilege we didn’t have when I first moved here 30 years ago.
LoveCopenhagen: What’s your fondest memory of the city?
CJ: I remember being 21, strolling out of town with friends during a summer when the sun was just beginning to rise. We wandered through Fælledparken and arrived at Café Pavillonen, where someone had left the music on, and Michael Jackson’s tunes floated softly through the air. We danced as if the night would never end. Being young in Copenhagen felt like an endless summer, filled with vibrant energy.
LoveCopenhagen: Any recommendations for experiencing the best of Copenhagen?
CJ: There’s a charming venue in Inner Frederiksberg called La Oficina. They host intimate concerts featuring female artists through an initiative called Women In Office. The atmosphere at those events is truly special, and I wholeheartedly recommend checking it out at www.homeconcerts.dk.
LoveCopenhagen: If you could add one thing to Copenhagen, what would it be?
CJ: Perhaps it already exists somewhere, but I would love to see a restaurant that transforms into a nightclub playing hip-hop and R&B. It would start at 10 PM so folks could dance for a few hours and still make it to bed at a reasonable hour. Now that would feel like home!
LoveCopenhagen: What’s your soundtrack for the city?
CJ: “Ain’t Got Nothing On You” by Leon Bridges captures the essence for me. Copenhagen is truly one of my favorite cities, and it’s only getting more vibrant.
