The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), a maritime information center under the British defense umbrella, confirmed late Tuesday that it had received multiple reports of a vessel being struck by a projectile.
The incident reportedly occurred approximately eight nautical miles northeast of Limah, Oman, in this strategically crucial waterway.
According to the UKMTO, the security officer onboard the tankers informed them that the crew had evacuated and was safely aboard a lifeboat. The defense center is now delving deeper into the circumstances surrounding this alarming event.
