Brothers get life sentences for attempted murder of bikers

Four bikers were supposed to be killed – but it never happened – now nine men have been convicted in the case.

The Onaran brothers with the almost identical first names Erhan and Ercan were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Copenhagen City Court on Monday in a comprehensive case involving the attempted murder of several Bandidos rockers.

This is what Ekstra Bladet writes.

Seven other men have also been convicted in the case. They face sentences ranging from five years to nine months as the minimum and 20 years as the maximum. The 20-year prison sentence is the highest possible sentence in Denmark.

The case has been dubbed ‘Operation Bronco’ by the police’s National Unit for Special Crimes.

The case complex concerns how members of the gang NNV planned to kill members of the biker group Bandidos in four cases.

The killings were planned in the wake of NNV member Cem Kaplan being shot and killed in his car in Hillerød by Bandidos rocker Jess Brønnum on January 2, 2021.

Both Erhan and Ercan Onaran are considered leading figures in NNV.

They have been found guilty of three and two attempted murders, respectively, as well as possession of a firearm in a public place.

In addition to the life sentence, they have been expelled from Denmark with a ban on returning when – and if – the expulsion is carried out.

One of the nine convicted is the only one not guilty of attempted murder. His name is Mohamed Al-Zamel, and he has only been convicted of being in possession of a firearm in a non-public place and of having received 15 kilos of amphetamine. He is sentenced to 14 years in prison.
