A motorist has alerted the police about a fallen tree lying on the road near Sakskøbing. The police are investigating the matter.

The South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police are investigating whether it was intentional when a tree fell over Kaløvej near Sakskøbing on Saturday night.

This is stated by the head of the watch, Kasper Skotte, to the Lolland-Falsters Folketidende.

“I can confirm that we received a report last night about a fallen tree. We have been to the scene of the accident or crime scene and examined it and determined that no one has been injured. An investigation is now underway to determine whether it was intentional,” it says.

No one was injured.

The newspaper has spoken to one of those who came driving and who has reported the matter to the police. He believes the tree was cut down deliberately.

According to the witness, a driver in front saw four young people with a chainsaw.

Pictures published by the newspaper show that it is a larger tree.

Previously, a case of tree felling in Sorø has attracted a lot of attention.

Here, a group of men were convicted in the case where a 35-meter-high spruce tree was felled across a country road, where it landed on a 55-year-old man’s car.

The man, who was a secondary school teacher, died at the scene.

The final sentence has not been put in the case from Sorø, as it has been appealed to the High Court.
