The alternative, the Red-Green Alliance and SF want cheaper housing and more green urban neighborhoods in the capital.

For the upcoming municipal elections in the autumn, the Red Alliance, the Socialist Party and the Alternative have chosen to form an electoral alliance in Copenhagen, the Red Alliance Copenhagen announced in a press release on Friday.

By joining an electoral alliance, parties can end up getting more seats than if they were to stand alone, because their votes are counted together. The three parties will work together to ensure that there is more affordable housing in Copenhagen. In addition, more green urban neighborhoods will be created.

The lead candidate of the Danish Unity Party and current Mayor for Technology and the Environment, Line Barfod, believes that Copenhagen should be a city that everyone can afford and in this regard sends critical comments towards the Social Democrats.

“Under the leadership of the Social Democrats, the housing market is about to break in half, and therefore our parties need to correct many years of failed Social Democratic housing policy,” she says.

The municipal and regional elections will be held on November 18th.
